Small domains on the up

With a net growth of over 159,000 domains, up by some 15,000 compared to 2008, last year confirmed the good health in the market for Italian domains.

The .it Registry, which last January 15 saw the number of active domains go above 1.8 million, was the fifth 'country code top level domain", in Europe and the seventh in the world. With the advent of synchronous fully-automated regisrations, growth increased from 25,000 to 35,000 new names each month. Two million domains? Just round the corner!
