Synchronous and asynchronous registration system

.it domains can be registered and maintained in two operating modes:

asynchronous

the Registrant or the Maintainer must submit a paper application (LAR, Letter of ownership) to the .it Registry. To complete the operation, the Maintainer must in turn send the "electronic form for registration" via email or via web.

synchronous

the Registrant must contact the Registrar who then registers the domain in real time directly, without any paperwork. The system is based on the EPP (Extensible Provisioning Protocol).
The .it Registry manages and updates the archive of domain names (DBNA, database of assigned domain names). The database is the same both for synchronous as well as asynchronous domains. The data are freely viewable, within the limits of the privacy of the users.
The Registry also allows you to check the status of registrations of an individual .it domain.
