from Maintainer to Registrar and changes the Registrant

Changing the service provider: from Maintainer (asynchronous) to Registrar (synchronous) and, simultaneously, changes the Registrant

Overview

This operation allows a domain to be transferred from one entity to another and, simultaneously, changes the Internet service provider for the domain, from a Maintainer (asynchronous system) to a Registrar (synchronous system).
The old Registrant sends the Registry a paper-based request to change the Registrant, containing its identity and that of the new Registrant (including contactID, provided by the Registrar) and the request for change of Maintainer/Registrar, signed by both. The Registry changes the Maintainer with the new Registrar, the Registrant contactID associated with the domain name, generates an authinfo code for the domain and forwards it to the Registrar, which in turn notifies the new Registrant.

Select and fill in the form

The request must be sent only in the Italian version. The English version is available only for a better comprehension of the document.

There are six models depending on various combinations:

English version (not to be sent):

The new Registrar provides the Registrant with the code that identifies them (contactID) within the synchronous registration system. The contactID must be entered in the Change of Maintainer/Registrar form.

Send the form

The form must be completed in its entirety, signed by the old and the new Registrants and sent to the Registry:

  • via fax to +39 050-570230
  • via mail or courier to the Registry:

Istituto di Informatica e Telematica - CNR
Registro.it
Via Giuseppe Moruzzi, 1
I-56124 PISA

Change of Maintainer / Registrar forms sent via email or delivered by hand are not accepted.

The Registry examines the request for change of Maintainer / Registrar. If the data are correct, the Registry changes the Maintainer with the new Registrar, which assigns a new code authinfo for the domain in question. The Registrar, in turn, notifies the Registrant.
