Registering a domain

1.    check eligibility
2.    check availability
3.    choice of the Registrar
To register a .it domain, the applicant must be 18 years old or over and belong to one of the member states of the European Union.
A domain name can be registered both by a natural person and by an entity other than a natural person (public bodies, companies, associations, individuals with a VAT number, etc). The domain chosen must be available i.e. not yet registered, (check now, database) and assignable (not part of the list of reserved or geographical domains).
Once the name has been identified, the Registrant must contact a Registrar (choose Registrar) who will see to carrying out the operation.
At the time of registration a code (called authinfo) is given that univocally identifies the domain name. The Registrar must notify the Registrant that code, which will be essential in order to perform any operations on the domain name.

To register a challenged domain go to the section New registration of a challenged domain.

To register a reserved/geographical domain go to the section Reserved/geographical domains.
