Digitaly: the early results are in

Digitaly is a campaign dedicated to familiarizing small- and medium-sized business to the digital world. CNA, Italy's national confederation of artisans, founded the project in cooperation with Amazon, Google, Registro.it and the advertising agency Seat Pagine Gialle. More than 200 companies participated in the campaign's launch on 14 April in Ravenna.

The site of the marketing campaign of Registro.it is online (www.unnomeunsogno.it). The campaign is aimed at increasing awareness in the use of the Internet, with a special focus on micro, small and medium enterprises, which are the backbone of the Italian economy and that can substantially benefit from a valid use of the Internet.

IDN for the 24 official languages of the EU

The set of characters admitted in the requests for .it registration has been extended: the IDN (Internationalized Domain Names) includes the 24 official languages of the European Union. With this new feature, the characters admitted for the registration of an .it domain are made up of all the characters belonging to the charsets (editor’s note: codes) Latin-1 Supplement, Latin Extended-A, Latin Extended-B, Greek, Greek Extended and Cyrillic. Not accepted are domain names that contain characters belonging to different charsets (Latin, Greek, Cyrillic), excluding of course the suffix “.it” and names and domains belonging to the geographic tree map.
