In San Floro (CZ), in the heart of Calabria, we met a young under-30 man who knew how to resurrect an entire agricultural sector by realizing one of the most innovative food farming startups in Italy.
The “Mulinum” project began with an online collection and with an appeal on the Internet to salvage the last stone mill of the region. After having raised the necessary funds thanks to the web community, the project was a success in the territory, involving 20 agricultural businesses who together gave life to the most specialized supply chain of ancient grain “Senatore Cappelli” of southern Italy.
Today the products from the Mulinum bakery are a reality which through ecommerce which exceeded the boundaries of Calabria. Flour, bread and pasta are sold in the entire peninsula. The creator of the project, Stefano Caccavari, now dreams of bringing this model of virtual development also in other Italian territories.
