Within the .it Registry cybersecurity laboratory, techniques and methods of security of networks, systems, and information are studied, refined and implemented in order to increase the reliability and resilience of the domain name registration system. In particular, the lab deals with critical applications and protocols such as DNS, HTTP, e-mail, etc. and systems are developed for the real-time analysis of network traffic and for the monitoring of systems and services.
The objectives of the laboratory include the evaluation of the ISO/IEC 27001: 2013 certification, which defines the requirements of a reliable management system and the creation of monitoring systems that enable preventive and prompt intervention in case of attacks and problems. Other aims are the implementation of remote disaster recovery systems and the creation of visualization systems for Registrars (through the RAIN-NG portal), which verify the functioning of the Registry.it systems.
The laboratory also organizes training courses aimed at Registrars on the theme of cybersecurity.
