On October 30, the Ludoteca del Registro .it will participate in the new edition of Comics & Science Palace, Lucca's science hub, which will host the Comics & Science editorial team and many guests from the end of October to November 3. The Ludoteca will present the new comic strip “Nabbovaldo e la bufala promptata” ("Nabbovaldo and the prompted fake news”).
Nabbovaldo is a character born from a collaboration between the CNR Institute of Informatics and Telematics in Pisa (CNR-IIT) and Comics & Science, in order to educate young people about digital citizenship. He is a young inhabitant of Internetopoli, the city of the Internet, passionate about the online world but naive and unaware of potential risks. Throughout his past adventures, he appeared in comics, video games, card games, and even battled viruses and PC Zombies. This time, his challenge is live on stage, confronting the artificial intelligences and the fake news that often emerge from them.
To celebrate the new comic, a story NOT generated by AI, screenwriter Giovanni Eccher and illustrator Gabriele Peddes will attempt to create - using suggestions from the audience - a story featuring Nabbovaldo and his world. Joining them will be Domenico Laforenza, an emeritus associate of CNR, who will contribute scientific insights to the plot.
