27.09.2024 | Pisa - Area della Ricerca CNR - Via G. Moruzzi 1
On September 27, it’s Bright Night, the European Researchers' Night, and the Ludoteca will participate, as every year, in the 2024 edition, in the CNR research area in Pisa, with a seminar and a workshop, respectively:
- Women & IT, (4:00 PM – Seminar Room 30 - Speakers: Giorgia Bassi and Beatrice Lami). Gender disparity is particularly evident in certain disciplinary and professional fields. The proposed workshop will be an opportunity to reflect on gender stereotypes related to STEM disciplines, with a particular focus on computer science. Participants will engage in an interactive quiz as an introduction to the topic, followed by the viewing of video clips from the web series “Women and Information Technology,” produced by the Ludoteca del Registro .it. This series highlights the stories of women who are pioneers in computer science, often underrecognized or undervalued in terms of their achievements and contributions to the field.
- Linda in Internetopoli (4:00 PM - Entrance hall 7 - Speakers: Claudia Mazzanti and Manuela Moretti). The web app Internetopoli, created by Ludoteca of Registro .it, aims to raise awareness among young generations about how the Internet works, its opportunities, and potential risks. In the city of Internetopoli, Nabbovaldo is the most well-known citizen, but unfortunately, he is the least skilled in digital competencies, unlike Linda, his girlfriend, who is highly proficient in digital culture. In these sessions, Linda will be our guide, leading us through the Internetopoli web app to help us understand the opportunities and risks of the Internet. Additionally, she will introduce us to some CNR experts in Cyber Security who, through their videos, will allow us to get to know more closely ethical hackers and debunk fake news.
