On February 3, as part of the Itasec/Serics event (Bologna – February 3-8), the workshop titled "Cybersecurity Education for Social Impact (CESI)" will be held.

During the panel "Perspectives from Educators and Researchers", Giorgia Bassi (Registro .it/Institute of Informatics and Telematics – CNR-IIT) will present the activities of the Ludoteca of the Registro .it in the field of cybersecurity education. Specifically, the speaker will showcase the video game "Nabbovaldo e il ricatto dal cyberspazio" and other tools and methodologies adopted by the Ludoteca to teach cybersecurity knowledge and best practices to students in lower secondary school.

The workshop "Cybersecurity Education for Social Impact (CESI)" aims to explore the societal impact of cybersecurity education, focusing on its potential to improve employability, engage marginalized groups, and foster inclusivity. It emphasizes how targeted training in cybersecurity can uplift diverse sectors, from unemployed high school graduates to professionals already in the workforce, as well as women in a predominantly male industry.

Panel discussions will feature case studies from Italy, alongside insights from international speakers (USA, Mexico, Argentina and China) to offer a comparative perspective.

Contributions will span various stages of education, professional training and community-driven initiatives, showcasing practical applications of cybersecurity education for social good.
