On February 11th, it’s the Safer Internet Day (SID), the global day for internet safety, established and promoted by the European Commission, celebrated simultaneously in over 100 countries. The annual event was created to promote safer and more responsible use of the web and new technologies, particularly among children and young people worldwide.
The Ludoteca of Registro .it, as it does every year, has joined the global initiative and organized two workshops that will take place simultaneously in two classes at the "L. Gereschi" primary school in Pisa (3rd and 5th A grades).
For over fourteen years, the Registro .it project has been promoting digital education, the responsible and conscious use of the Internet among young people, and the potential of the web, without overlooking the risks to identify and avoid. The workshops, conducted by Ludoteca experts, provide an opportunity to introduce younger primary school students to digital topics, through an educational approach that, combining play and learning, conveys basic knowledge and best practices for safe internet navigation.
