On 11 February, the Registro .it's Ludoteca will participate for the first time at the Safer Internet Day (SID) as a member of the Generazioni Connesse's Italian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) Advisory Board, a partnership obtained at the end of 2019 and signed with the SIC, a project coordinated by the Ministry of Education and a national contact point for Internet security initiatives. The general goal of the Board is to implement European policies encouraging young people's positive use of digital technologies by sharing innovative and high quality content.
This year, the SID, which will be celebrated simultaneously in over 150 countries including Italy, will be entitled "Together for a better internet" and will take place in Naples at the Pietrarsa National Railway Museum. The main topic of the day will be a guided discussion on Internet's opportunities and risks, with talks and activities involving young people. Students and company, association and institution representatives who will join the Advisory Board at the SIC consultation will take part in the initiative.
Safer Internet Day is the annual and international event organised in partnership with the European Commission to promote, especially among minors, a safer and more responsible use of Internet and new technologies. Over the years, the event has become an important reference for all industry professionals, institutions and civil society organisations, now involving more than 100 countries.
The event will be streamed live on the Generazioni Connesse website
