On May 6, the Ludoteca of Registro .it will take part in the second edition of the International Festival for Gender Equality in Perugia, with a workshop dedicated to the gender gap in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), scheduled at the ITTS “A. Volta” Institute.
Through an engaging group activity involving the search for clues, Giorgia Bassi and Beatrice Lami (Registro .it) will guide students in exploring the lives and contributions of notable women in computer science, past and present, whose work has not always received the recognition it deserved. At the end of the session, classes will retrace the key moments in the lives of these scientists — including Ada Lovelace, Hedy Lamarr, and Grace Murray Hopper, among others— also through the screening of the video clips “Women & Computer Science”.
The International Festival for Gender Equality, scheduled for May 4–6, is an event dedicated to gender equality, conceived as a space for dialogue and participation to imagine a more equitable society. Over six days, meetings, workshops, exhibitions, and performances will animate the city of Perugia, engaging experts, institutions, associations, and citizens. The program spans multiple aspects of everyday life, with the aim of promoting inclusion, overcoming stereotypes, and fostering shared cultural change.
