On May 15, the Ludoteca of Registro .it will arrive at the Turin International Book Fair with a seminar titled “Nabbovaldo: Our Guide to Cyberspace”.
During the event, Giorgia Bassi and Claudia Mazzanti will give a brief introduction to the Ludoteca project, which is dedicated to digital education with a special focus on cybersecurity.
The project, launched fourteen years ago, was created to raise awareness among young people about how the Internet works. Its goal is to promote responsible and informed use of the web, highlight the opportunities it offers, and draw attention to the risks it entails, teaching kids how to manage and avoid them.
At the Book Fair, the speakers will present the character of Nabbovaldo to the audience. Nabbovaldo is the imaginative creation of illustrator Gabriele Peddes and the result of a collaboration between the Institute of Informatics and Telematics of the CNR in Pisa (CNR-IIT) and Comics & Science (CNR), aimed at educating young people about digital citizenship.
Nabbovaldo is a young resident of Internetopoli, the city of the Internet. He’s passionate about the online world but naive and unaware of its potential dangers. Over time, this clueless but lovable character has starred in the Internetopoli web app and the video game “Nabbovaldo e il ricatto dal Cyberspazio”. He has also appeared in comics and even fought against computer viruses and zombie PCs
